Some clients may find that improving their relationship with food results in changes to their bodies or minds but I don't generally recommend weight loss as a primary goal. The research on weight loss suggests that many efforts to lose weight only last while on that specific diet. When the diet ends, the dieter tends to experience rebound weight gain.
Rather than trying another short-term weight loss diet, I recommend reconnecting with food for lifelong health. This means limiting processed foods and additives, eating real whole food and nourishing your gut. It involves learning to meal plan and prep so that you have great options available when you need them and can more easily avoid impulse eating. It means prioritizing food as a pivotal part of your overall health and not just a checklist of things to avoid. Following your hunger and fullness cues allows you to trust your intuition as you choose a great variety and reasonable amount of food to nourish yourself.
Each body and goal is different for each unique person so I always recommend seeing a registered dietitian for a complete assessment to discuss and set SMART (specific, measurable, achievable, relevant, time-bound) goals.
Keep in mind, however, that a specific weight, a clothing size or your shape do not determined your health, value or beauty. Not all bodies look the same. It may be that by focusing less on the scale or how you look and more on allowing food to nourish your body that you can find freedom from dieting and heal your relationship with food.
The "New Client Call" is a quick way to make sure that I understand your goals and expectations and have the experience to support you in them. I REALLY want to make sure this is meaningful for you and that we are the right fit to help you reach your goals. It also ensures that you can get the most out of your paid package if you choose to purchase one.
I want you to purchase your package with confidence.
If we aren't a good fit, that's ok! I might know someone else I can suggest who might be a better fit for your unique situation. Or perhaps now just isn't the right time and we can try again later.
Making sustainable life changes takes time! Many clients can make great progress in their healthy eating journey with the "New Client Package". Choosing a package helps you feel motivated and solidifies your commitment. Some clients like to continue to check in after the initial package and we love that too! Simply buy additional followup sessions and keep the conversation going. This is your journey and we will support you however we can.
Yes. We will do our best to provide receipts for sessions in a transparent way that will optimize your benefits. Please let me know if your insurance requires specific details or has session limits. Generally, I split the total cost of the package equally between all appointments and provide a receipt after payment for each appointment.
How frustrating! Let us know if your receipt was rejected. We can't control or guarantee your receipt will be accepted but we do our best to provide receipts that will optimize your benefits. Please contact your insurance to find out why your coverage was denied. If you can let us know details about what you need on your receipt, we will do our best to help. Sometimes it's a simple matter of wording. For example: one provider might cover a "Nutrition Consultation" while another might only provide coverage for "Nutrition assessment". Please note: we cannot change dates, names or other details that will compromise the truthfulness of the service received. It's always best to check insurance first.
Please provide a minimum of 24 hours notice to cancel or change an appointment. Eat Food Nutrition will try to accommodate changes when reasonably possible.
If a client does not attend an appointment, attends while in a situation where the appointment can NOT be completed due to safety or connection issues (ex: in a moving vehicle, in a crowded or noisy location, with excessive distractions limiting client or dietitian ability to focus etc.), or attends too late to be able to complete the session; it will be considered a no-show. The first no-show appointment may be re-booked as a courtesy subject to availability. Subsequent no-show appointments may result in forfeiting the non-refundable deposit. If a package is already paid, it may result in that session being forfeited.
